10 Android Tablets Below 10K In India @ 2012

The much elusive Aakash 2 tablet is yet to make an official entry, but it is still one of the most coveted and talked about tablets in the town. However, much before its arrival, there are many Aakash rivals or say, budget Android tablets, which have been launched in the Indian market recently. We take a look at the top sub-10k desi Android tablets released in India in 2012.
 
Although, there have been many budget tablets launched in India this year, we have shortlisted only those that are available in the commercial market through retail or online stores. There are other educational tablets such as Aakash, ClassPad, AllGo Stamp and few others, which are not available for the consumers presently. Check out the latest released cheap Android tablets in the Indian market below:
 
UbiSlate 7+
DataWind has now officially launched its UbiSlate series of devices, which are to some extent the commercial version of the world's cheapest tablet - Aakash. The UbiSlate 7+ Android tablet packs GPRS and Wi-Fi. It is the only Android device in the Indian market to offer DataWind's patented UbiSurfer browser. It carrier diverse services for the end user and can also be used as a phone. UbiSlate 7+ is priced at Rs 2,999 in the Indian market.
 

BizzBook
The upcoming BizzBook tablets are again designed to compete with the Aakash tablet. The new BizzBook tablet matches Aakash both on the price and the specifications front. Hyderabad-based start-up firm, Bizz Group, is very soon coming up with six new budget tablets, priced between Rs 3,200 and Rs 12,000 to give Aakash a run for money. 

The new B7i1 tablet packs a resistive 17.7-cm (7-inch) touchscreen, a 800 Mhz processing speed, Android 2.2 operating system, and a battery that can last from two to four hours. The BizzBook B7i1 is priced at Rs 3,200. However, additional phone calling will make the device costlier by Rs 4,200.
 

BSNL Penta
The latest one to rival Aakash in the market is the BSNL's Penta series tablets. Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) has unveiled three new tablets in tie up with Pantel, a Noida-based company. The three new BSNL tablets are Penta TPAD IS701R, Penta TPAD WS704C and Penta TPAD WS802C. The closest Aakash rival, Penta TPAD IS701R packs a 17.8-cm (7-inch) resistive touchscreen, front-facing camera, 1GHz processor and 256 MB RAM and Android 2.3 OS. The BSNL Penta TPAD is modestly priced at Rs 3,499. 
 
UbiSlate 7C
DataWind has recently launched two new models of its UbiSlate tablets. The high-end version is dubbed as UbiSlate 7C. Although, it's a slight upgrade from the 7+ version, the key difference between the two device is that the UbiSlate 7C model will sport a multi-touch four-point capacitive touchscreen compared to a resistive one with 7+. Also, both these devices will come preloaded with GetJar app store, Indian Express app and Yahoo! apps. The new UbiSlate 7C tablet will be offered at a price tag of Rs 3,999 in the Indian market. 

Attitude Daksha
Developed by the Telmoco Development Labs Pvt Ltd, a technology startup company based in KeralaĆ¢€™s IT hub Technopark, the Attitude Daksha comes equipped with a 17.78-cm (7-inch) WVGA LCD screen and a capacitive multi-touch display to the users. Powered by Android 4.0 Ice cream Sandwich OS, the Attitude Daksha educational tablet device is priced at Rs 5,399 in India. 
 

Wishtel IRA
Wishtel has recently launched their IRA series of tablets. The new tablet devices run Android 2.2 OS that is upgradeable to Android 2.3. Both the tablets, IRA and IRA Thing, have been designed and manufactured in India and these devices sport a 17.74-cm (7-inch) screen. The new IRA series of tablets are priced between Rs 4,000 to Rs 5,500 for the Indian consumers.
 

Micromax Funbook
Micromax has been the latest entrant into the tablet market in India. The company has now officially announced its much awaited Android 4.0 tablet Funbook. Dubbed as an edutainment device, the Funbook features a 17.8-cm (7-inch) multitouch capacitive display, a 1.2GHz Cortex A8 processor with a Mali GPU and 4GB internal memory, which can be expanded up to 32 GB. The Micromax Funbook is priced at Rs 6,499 in the local market.

HCL ME U1
HCL has introduced HCL ME U1 in India. The sleek tablet runs Android Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.3 OS. Equipped with a 17.8-cm (7-inch) capacitive display screen, ME U1 tablet packs 1 Ghz processor, 512 MB RAM DDR3 memory and 4GB internal storage space, which is expandable up to 32 GB. The HCL ME U1 tablet is reasonably priced at Rs 7,999 in the Indian market.

Zync Z-990
One of the first and the cheapest Android 4.0 tablets available in the Indian market, the Zync Z-990 tablet comes equipped with a 17.8-cm (7-inch) capacitive touchscreen, a 1.2 GHz processor and 1 GB RAM. The device offers 3G (via dongle), Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Powered by Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS, the new Zync Z-990 is priced at Rs 8,000 in the Indian market.
 
iBerry Auxus
iBerry has launched another budget Android 4.0 tablet in India. The iBerry Auxus AX02 packs a 17.8-cm (7-inch) LCD capacitive touchscreen, a front-facing 0.3 megapixel camera, 2 megapixel back camera and 1.0 GHz ARM Cortex A8 system processor. The device offers a complete browsing experience to users with the latest Adobe Flash 10.3 support. The new iBerry Auxus AX02 tablet is priced at Rs 9,990 for online purchase.
